Job applicant privacy policy
This Privacy Notice (“Privacy Notice” or “Notice”) explains how Paradigm Operations LP (together with its Paradigm affiliates, “Paradigm,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects personal information from job applicants who are California residents, to the extent their personal information is collected and used by us solely within the context of their job application to Paradigm. Please note that this Notice does not form part of any employment contract or contract to provide services.
This Notice supplements other privacy notices you may receive in connection with your relationship with us. This Privacy Notice does not apply to our handling of data gathered about you in your role as a visitor to our website, or as a user of products and services provided by us or any of our portfolio companies.
Personal Information We Collect and Have Collected in the Past 12 Months – Sources and Categories
In the 12 months preceding the date of this Notice, we collected your personal information directly from you, such as when you applied for a position with us and submitted a resume or application form or interviewed with us, from references and former employers, social media sites (such as LinkedIn), or when you otherwise voluntarily provided information to us. We will continue to collect personal information from the same sources.
The categories of personal information we collected from these sources during the 12 months preceding the date of this Notice, and will continue to collect, includes the following:
- Personal identifiers:such as name, address, email address, government-issued identification documents.
- Protected class information: such as race, ethnicity, gender, gender identification, veteran status, if you elect to provide such information to us.
- Professional information: such as records of your work and education history (including internal and external work history and references), professional licenses, certificates or other qualifications.
- Educational information: such as education history; trade school records; certificates obtained.
- Financial information: such as an applicant's expectations regarding salary, bonus, benefits, and other forms of compensation.
- Audio or Visual Information: such as CCTV footage, as well as other information relating to the security of our premises collected during in-person interviews or other parts of the recruitment process, and any photographs or videos submitted.
- Other Information: any other personal information you choose to share with us in the application or recruiting process, such as cover letter, CV, resume, or information needed to facilitate travel.
Purposes for Collection of Personal Information
We use your personal information to facilitate the application, recruiting, and interview process and make recruiting decisions, including to
- evaluate your application for employment;
- conduct job interviews;
- verify information provided to us, or which we obtained from third parties, in connection with applications;
- communicate with candidates about the status of their applications or other opportunities with us that may be of interest to them;
- make decisions about compensation and benefits packages to be offered;
- assess and improve our recruiting and hiring processes;
- fulfill contractual obligations to candidates and other parties, such as recruiters;
- conduct audits, compliance and risk management activities, internal investigations and security activities; and
- comply with applicable law, rule, regulation, legal proceedings and government investigations and requests, including immigration requirements.
We may also use personal information for any other legally permitted purpose (subject to your consent, where legally required).
Except where you provide such information voluntarily on your resume or in your application, we do not collect personal information that is considered “sensitive” under the California Consumer Privacy Act during the recruitment process.
Disclosure of Personal Information for Business Purposes in the Past 12 Months
We may disclose personal information to the following types of entities:
Internally: We may disclose your information internally, including to Paradigm subsidiaries and affiliates, as well as any of their subcontractors or service providers, where appropriate for the uses described above.
Vendors: We may disclose personal information to vendors that assist in human resource functions, such as travel providers, testing companies, applicant tracking system providers, scheduling and email communications providers, security services and cloud-based data storage, legal services, and employment businesses (in relation to contractors or agency workers).
Recruiters: We may disclose personal information to recruiters if you are working with a recruiter in connection with your application for employment and your recruiter is authorized by you to obtain feedback from us regarding your application and interview process.
Legal Compliance and Exercising Legal Rights: We may disclose personal information as required or permitted by law to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process or government request, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is legally required or otherwise necessary to protect our rights and property or the rights, property or safety of others, including to law enforcement agencies, and judicial and regulatory authorities. We may also disclose your personal information to third parties to help detect and protect against fraud or data security vulnerabilities.
Business Transactions: We may share or transfer your personal information to a third party in the event of an actual or potential sale, merger, reorganization of our entity or other restructuring.
Consent: With your consent and as permitted by law, we may share personal information with any other third parties in any other circumstances.
No “Sale” or “Sharing” of Personal Information
We do not “sell” or “share” the personal information of job applicants, as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act, and have not done so in the twelve months prior to the effective date of this Notice.
Rights Related to Personal Information Held by Us
Your Right to Your Personal Information
California residents have certain rights regarding their personal information. Subject to certain exceptions, you or an authorized agent may request that we:
- Provide you with the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you;
- Provide you with the categories of personal information we have collected about you; the business or commercial purpose for collecting, “selling,” or “sharing” your personal information; the categories of third parties to whom we disclose or “sell,” or with whom we “share,” personal information; and the categories of personal information we “sell.”
- Delete certain information we have about you.
- Correct inaccurate information that we maintain about you.
Exceptions to Your Rights: There are certain exceptions to these above rights. For instance, we may retain your personal information if it is necessary for us to perform human resource functions; for other internal uses; to maintain the functionality or security of our systems; or to comply with or exercise rights provided by the law.
You also have the right not to be discriminated against (as provided for in California law) for exercising your rights.
Exercising Your Rights and Verification of Identity

We also will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before responding to a request. For example, we may ask you for two pieces of personal information and attempt to match those to information that we maintain about you. If we are unable to verify you through this method, we shall have the right, but not the obligation, to request additional information from you.
If we are unable to verify your identity with the degree of certainty required, we will not be able to honor your request. We will notify you to explain the basis of the denial.
Authorized Agents
You may designate an agent to submit requests on your behalf. The agent can be a natural person or an entity that is registered with the California Secretary of State.
If you would like to designate an agent to act on your behalf, you and the agent will need to comply with our verification process. Your agent will need to provide us with a power of attorney or your signed permission indicating the agent has been authorized to submit the request on your behalf. We may also require that you verify your identity directly with us or confirm with us that you provided the agent with permission to submit the request.
Personal Information of Minors
We do not advertise our positions to minors under 16 and do not knowingly “sell” or “share” the personal information of minors under 16 years of age in the employment context, as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act.
Changes to This Notice
We will review and update this Notice as required to keep current with rules and regulations, new technologies and security standards. We will post those changes on the website or update the Privacy Notice modification date below. In certain cases and if the changes are material, we will post a notice on our website.
